Each additional coat gives Plasti Dip Smoke a darker, deeper hue—from gray to charcoal to black, all with the same distinct smokiness. Plasti Dip Enhancers are formulated to bond with the unique chemical structure of cured Plasti Dip for superior adhesion and long life. Plasti Dip Enhancers are not recommended for use on any other surface. Satinizer and Glossifier are especially recommended for use with Plasti Dip Blaze products to keep the color’s vibrancy.

Plasti Dip protective coating has excellent resistance to acids, alkaline, and most common household chemicals. However, it is best to test this before going ahead with your application. Plasti Dip does have limited resistance to petroleum-based products. While Plasti Dip has been used for dishwasher rack repair in the past, it is not recommended. Our ReRACK™ product is much better suited for this application and works very well. Mixing different colors of Plasti Dip protective coating can be done to achieve other colors.

Allow 4 hours per coat for complete dry. If runs or sags are experienced, move can further away from surface. To avoid clogged nozzle, turn can upside down and spray for 5 seconds. If clogged, remove nozzle and soak in naphtha or mineral spirits for 30 minutes. Do not stick pin or other objects into stem.
Applying High Gloss Top Coat over Plasti Dip Spray colors can cause some dulling when combination is applied over cast vinyl. Flexible, specialty rubber coating ideal for repairing rusted or damaged dishwasher racks and other vinyl-coated racks. Dipping and removing too quickly can cause this. Remove at a rate of 1” every 5 seconds.

For best results the surfaces being coated must have a smooth unbroken OEM finish. Allow 30 minutes minimum between coats. Apply as many coats as desired (3-4 average). Hold can 6-10” from surface, moving can back and forth, slightly overlapping each stroke.

Keep spray gun 6-8 inches away from surface, applying wet over lapping coats. Allow 30 minutes dry time before applying additional coats if needed. Refill spray system frequently. Avoid running empty which can draw air into spray system. Allow 10 – 20 minutes dry time before applying additional coats if needed. Always protect surrounding areas from overspray.
Plasti Dip Enhancers are formulated to bond only with the unique chemical structure of Plasti Dip and are not recommended for use on other surfaces. When following the directions, you can apply as many coats of Plasti Dip protective coating as you like. In most uses mils thickness is adequate (2 dip coats, 3-4 brush coats, 4-5 spray coats).
Seller cannot control use of this product and will not accept liability for more than product replacement. Most items being dip coated do not require priming because the coating is shrinking around the item as it dries. However, in extreme conditions or when adding protective coating to a large metal surface, primer is recommended. Use Plasti Dip Primer or a high quality acrylic auto body-type primer. Do not use Rust-Oleum® primer as it is not compatible.

For best results, use a pumice grit. Results may vary with other grit additives. When applied properly Plasti Dip can be removed from most surfaces, if desired. Allow 4 hours cure time, depending on temperatures and humidity. Always use proper ventilation and protection. Avoid any changes in temperature or humidity while coats are drying to avoid blushing.
